This is yarn liberated from another project that Just Wasn’t Working. They were both henleys, but that one had no waist shaping, a high neck, and I had sized it via my full bust (sigh, why do I DO that?!). This one is customfit, with a waist, 3/4 sleeves, and cute edging!
finished the front! Feel like the neckline might be a little lower than I intended it, but a bit of extra trim can help that if I comes to it. Picture of just the trim is probably truest to color. :)
Finished the EVERYTHING! one note: I am a little confused why the designer has you slip the end stitches down the front along the button and edges, but then later on asks you to pick up more rows for said bands then there are slipped stitches. I took a leap of faith that if I just picked up the slipped stitches like a heel flap on a sock, everything would be fine. It totally was, and I had a whole 1.5 yards of yarn left when I cast off, which I did very loosely Just In Case.
Construction Notes:
This is a custom-fit mash-up. Which means that instead of following glaize’s fit instructions, i took its design elements, and applied them to a custom-fit pattern sized for me!
For the sake of my sanity, I skipped the short-rows at the hem, but included the hip-slits. I calculated approximate places for the lace panels to start, aiming for the beginning of the bust shaping on the front (I wanted the panel to cover my entire bust, rather than looking forlorn and ending half-way down the way a lot of bust-details can on us chesty ladies), and at the smallest point of my waist in the back. The only
I’ll post pics of my design choices, but i will note that if i were to do it again, I’d bring the neckline up a ways. it’s pretty low, all buttoned up, and I can’t wear it with the first 2 buttons open the way the model does, without flashing all sorts of cleavage.
