Trying this pair instead of Vanilla and hoping the pattern is enough :)
Added length to the ribbing and 4 pattern reps instead of 3 for size S, DH wants them longer, also trying knitting elastic for the rib because DH likes his socks to stay up!!( fussy soandso)
I keep increasing one stitch by the end of the 18 rows repeat!! It’s not a problem to k2tog at the end of round 1, it’s quickly hidden in the pattern and doesn’t affect it’s flow, but it is annoying.
Changing the heel flap and sole to one from the Pinnacles and Turrets Socks pattern which is utterly gorgeous.
Note to self for future reference - after heel turn and rejoin for gusset, allow one extra stitch each side to accommodate the cable pattern at row 18 and foll.row 1 (just knit them for all other rows) ‘Pinnacles’ requires 31 sts in this instance, leaving 33 sts for size small but the cable pattern needs 16 st reps with an extra one each side for stated rows to maintain pattern continuity. Instead of using the ‘pinnacles’ sole centralised double increase,k-yo-k tbl,( which leaves little holes on the sole) I used a kfsb increase twice at the center point which is almost invisible.
3/5/2017 completed. I used part of the ‘pinnacles’ pattern and part of the ‘tannis’ pattern for the toe box.Very pleased with how they turned out, hope DH likes them too!!
