Notes

When I started this pattern I knew I wanted to design something to go with this oh so pretty yarn by Amelia and Wiggles- it’s a light bulky weight super wash yarn in a beautiful golden yellow color marbled with earthy tones.

The cowl I came up with has a gently tapered shape to fit the contour of a neck and stay snug around your face for extra cold days. This design is for Legolas from Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. The twists and twisted stitches in the golden color way reminded me of the elves elegant blond hair and the arrowheads represent Legolas’ weapon of choice: a bow and arrow.

It’s a funny shape to block, but using a lamp works great! I put it on the lampshade dry, then used a squirt bottle of water and kookaburra wash to wet the panel section only. I didn’t want the ribbing to get blocked in the stretched out position.
