3 Sept 2017: Knitted a total of 13 pattern repeats. Bound off using the tubular cast off and kitchener stitch (though I only used two set up rows, not four). This would’ve gone faster had I not been doing it while very tired (and had to rip back and fix things twice).

The yarn held up surprisingly well to this abuse! I love Malabrigo, and I will definitely use Chunky again. Soooooo soft. It’s like a golden cloud.

I ended up cabling the smaller 4/4 cables without a cable needle, but the 8/8 cables were way too big for me to manage. I used a DPN as a cable needle for these.

10 Aug 2017: Cast on using long tail tubular cast on. My sister requested a scarf/cowl in this colorway (she loved my daughter’s Foxy Hat in the same colorway), and it should be both fast and mindless, which is PERFECT for the impending in-service meetings at JCCC next week.

A note on the yarn:
This is the first time I’ve used Malabrigo Chunky. I tend to gravitate toward single ply yarns, but I have to say that I’m really loving working with this. It’s sooooo soft.

Planning to start alternating skeins approximately halfway through the first skein. I’ve never had to alternate with an odd number of skeins before, so I’m hoping this will work okay.

A note on the name:
This is a gift for my sister, who lives in California, using yarn in the colorway “Sunset.”
