26 May 2016: Cast on over 7s using cable cast on. Beyond cast on, using size 6 needles.
28 May 2016: Finished up “Begin Short Row” section and ready for “When Doves Cry” stitch section!
29 May 2016: Possible error on Row 3 of Doves section. Think it should be “k7,” not “p7.” Have emailed designer to verify.
1 June 2016: Finished up the doves section and started on Kiss section. Loving working on this! Changing sections keeps it interesting, but still simple enough to do while watching tv or talking to someone. Also, where have German short rows been my entire knitting life?!
2 June 2016: Finished Kiss section. Hope to finish tomorrow!
3 June 2016: Used 5s for seed stitch border. Cast off using k2tog tbl method; sort of wishing I’d used my favorite stretchy BO instead, though not enough to pick out the BO and redo it. I’ll have no problem blocking to depth, but it’s not going to hit the specified length, boo! Still, I think it’s long enough. Now I just need to Soak it and block it. Hopefully I can get it on the boards tomorrow.
This was a really fun knit. It makes me want to take on more “single skein of fingering” projects!
This is a gift for my friend Neha. She lived and breathed Prince’s music—it’s been the soundtrack to her life. She is the first one everyone in our group of high school friends thought of when we heard the news.
A stroke of luck: Neha is an Aquarius (and she is very proud of that fact!), and when I discovered that the Aquarius colorway (part of the exclusive “Astrology” Jimmy Beans Wool madelinetosh yarn colorways this year) is purple, the yarn decision was easy. :D

On this project, I learned…
