I am not a big fan of cables--but a hat caught my eye--and i really liked it. I made an attempt to copy--and this hat is the result. Its a failure--NO its not!

Its not the hat I hoped to knit (a scrunchy loose fitting hat) but its a fine hat in its own right..

I have included a suggested gauge--but this hat, like many, can be fine tuned--Use a slightly finer (but still worsted weight yarn) to get a slightly smaller hat, or a heavier (aran) weight yarn, and get a bigger hat.

I think cable hats are pretty uni-sex--but there will be enough yarn left from the skein to make a pompom--a small one or a giant one! 3 skeins of yarn could be used to make a set of his and her hats.
