Notes

12/20 attempted to knit stockinette on 3.25mm needles. I could tell it was not going to meet gauge, even with blocking. Knit a swatch on 3.5mm needles. It’s on the blocking board. I’m hoping I get near gauge. I am a tight knitter and usually have to go up a needle size.

It turns out I’m not near my gauge, and I knit flat, so I decided to knit a swatch in the round. I went up to 3.5mm and 3.75 mm needles.

I knit two more swatches. I was able to get my ribbing gauge using the 3.5mm with 24stitches to 4”.

Getting gauge on the stockinette was a bit different. Using the 3.75 mm needles my gauge was 22x 34 stitches/ 4”. Using 4 mm needles my gauge was 19.5x 32 stitches/ 4”. I am going to use the 3.5mm for the ribbing and 4mm for the body.

I cast on using a tubular cast on, a bit of a challenge using two strands of lace and esp. with the mohair.

This is a pretty straight forward knitting in the round pattern. The only difficult part is making sure you pick up both strands of yarn.
