Easy pattern, but I had to pay attention. My fault not the pattern.
This yarn was very scratchy to work with. It is somewhere between a fingering and sport weight. I am not sure exactly what the fiber is, the card says that they have angora goats, but this does not feel like angora. It is a handspun yarn. It has a rustic look which goes with this pattern. I washed it in Kookaburra and added a hair conditioner, which helped, but it is still too scratchy to wear next to the skin.
I made several modifications to the pattern. I added three extra stitches to the neck edge and made an I-cord edging. I thought this gave a more finished look. I wanted the bottom edge to be just a little wider so I added an extra stitch to the bottom. CO 14 stitches.
I also did seven increase and decrease repeats and made them all 30 rows. The center panel I made 60 rows.
If I were to make this again I would try a worsted or aran weight to make this larger. I would also make the center panel wider.
I love the unique shape of this pattern.
