Started the hat yesterday morning and was able to make it through the ribbing and chart A before hitting the hay. I’m very pleased with how it’s turning out, pleased and excited. I’ve done color work before, but only ever in two colors and sport weight. I hope I can get it finished by the end of the weekend, or at mid next week… I really don’t have any reference for a project like this.

This one is for Scott so that he can keep his noggin warm in the woods. I kept the palette subdued with a lot of browns and greens, and threw in a bit of silver for a little more contrast.

This hat is going by so quickly! I started it last week and I thought for sure it’d be a chore, with such itty thread and the fact that it’s fair isle, but holy mackerel, it’s flying. Last week I worked on it on the bus (changing colors on the bus is not the most ideal situation, but I made it happen), at work, and at home, then set it down over the weekend to speed up my the progress of my other projects. And now it’s almost done! It’s definitely become my portable project. I’m hoping to get it finished by this Wednesday so that I block it and everything else (hopefully) before leaving this weekend.

It’s done! Well the knitting part. I still have to weave in the ends and block it, but aside from that. D O N E. If you couldn’t tell, I’m super pleased with myself. Fingers crossed for a swift finish!
