I got this Lamb’s Pride for cheap at Maryland Sheep & Wool 2016. I felt kind of silly buying commercial yarn at Sheep & Wool, but it looks nice and I needed a lot of it, so I wasn’t going to do this project in handspun anyway.

First gauge swatch too small. 16 sts by 22 rows on US 8 needles is only about 3.5 inches square…supposed to be 4 inches. Try again with US 9.

Second gauge swatch still a tiny bit too small, but I’m going to go with US9 and US7 and follow the directions for size large instead of medium. I made the swatch a bit bigger than necessary and I’m going to save it to use as a patch pocket (did a few rows of ribbing before binding off).

2016-07-16 - First skein spent. I did a second swatch-pocket and then cast on for reals. Raglan sleeves are fun! The skein ran out at row 41. Skein two will begin row 42!

2016-07-28 - Second skein spent. Almost done with the waist shaping. I think the ssk adjacent to k2tog is causing a pucker. Am I doing something wrong or should there be another stitch between these two?

2016-08-10 - Third skein spent. A dozen or so more rows of stockinette and it’s on to the ribbing!

2016-08-27 - Torso done! On to the sleeves! There’s still lots of yarn left on the fourth skein, but I think I’ll start a new one.

2016-09-04 - First sleeve done! It took nearly all of skein five, so it was a good choice to start a new one. Now to do it all again with skein six and sleeve two!

2016-09-30 - Second sleeve done! Now to pick up all those stitches for the neckline trim!

2016-11-24 - Knitting complete! Now to sew on the buttons and pockets and block it! (And maybe try to close up the holes at the armpits.)

2016-12-11 - Sewed the buttons on today. I was going to block the sweater and pockets separately and then sew them together. But I think I will just block the pockets and sew them on. I can always block it later.

2016-12-18 - Pockets attached! Not the best sewing job, but it’ll have to do.

Seven skeins used, but I’ve got leftovers from skeins 4 (end of body), 5 (sleeve 1), 6 (sleeve 2), and 7 (neckline and button band).
