12/12/09 Swatching with size 8 needles in st st. I think all my Christmas knitting is done, and I’m tired of accessories. I want a long-term knit, and I want something for me me me me!

12/12/09 After washing and drying my swatch flat, I got 16 st and 20 rows. Going to size 7 needles.

12/20/09: Decided to start rib & cable pattern 4.5 inches from sleeve division. This is maybe 1 inch under the bottom of my bust. Using size 6 needles for this part of the pattern.

12/25/09: Bound off skirt about 14 inches from division. Picked up stitches for sleeve #1.

1/1/10: Finishing first sleeve. I knit 9” from underarm before starting rib & cable pattern. Length is perfect!

1/3/10: Knit almost all of second sleeve yesterday. Finished second sleeve and knit button band/color this evening. Done, and awaiting blocking!

1/6/09: Took more than 48 hours to dry completely on my new blocking boards from KP (gift from MIL). Still needs a button, but I tried it on -- PERFECT FIT! It’s exactly as I imagined it. Happiness!

1/9/10: Wearing! PERFECTION! Cozy! Flattering! The ideal sweater of my DREAMS!
