Bob, a dear friend, commissioned an afghan from me. I chose Encore for ease of care and durability.
Plymouth Encore Tweed, 19 skeins. Color numbers: 456, 4108, 3525, 5598, 212, 2334, 5854, 9960, 138, 1363, 217, 599, and 1237. I needed 3 skeins of color 599, the border color.
Competing in the 2012 Ravellenic Games in the WiPs Wrestling event. Set this aside on May 13th with 9 blocks finished. Will attempt to finish the remaining 15 blocks by the end of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
7/27 - Opening Ceremony! At 3pm sharp, I pulled out the project and took stock of where I left off. Turns out I was further along than I thought! I actually had 10 squares finished and #11 was nearly done. By the time the Opening Ceremony had finished airing here in the US, I had completed one block yet ended up almost 3 blocks ahead of schedule. Yay!
7/28 - Finished another square and hit the halfway mark! 12 squares done, 12 to go.
7/29 - I’m technically posting this at 1am on 7/30 but this was my goal for the 29th. I finished two squares today (my day off!). I did one extra to make up for not doing a whole one yesterday. The count is now 14/10.
7/30 - Mid-afternoon the count is 15/9. Took a photo of my stack of squares (second from the bottom).
8/1 - Count is now 17/7!
8/2 - 19/5.
8/4 - Oops, forgot to update this for a couple days. As of 8pm US-CST, I have 22 squares done and two left.
8/5 - Square knitting done! I knit an extra because I apparently can’t count. Maybe a pillow? All that remains is assembly and the border. Photo with the cat (Scotty) is pre-assembly.
8/9 - Seaming finished. I did 3-needle bind-off on all the squares and had to switch seaming colors instead of using just one color as planned. So many ends..
8/12 - Finished! I went right down to the wire sewing in ends but made it by 6pm! Posted, photographed, and ready to go to its new home.
