The moment I saw this sweater I knew I had to make it. I drooled over the yarn and hesitated to make the purchase. Then it went on sale and that was it. The yarn is so soft that when my husband touched it in curiosity he started gushing over it and so I promised to make him a sweater too as soon as the yarn goes on sale, again.
7/25/18 - Anxiously waiting to start the cables. I’m 11 days into the project and have finished the 2 sleeves and 8” of the body. Made the sleeves for size 34 3/4 figuring I would make the smallest size. Then read the note stating that the pattern called for 2” positive ease. So, decided to make the body in the 37 1/4” size. Will make adjustments for the sleeves at the yoke. My thought is since the yoke decreases before stating the cables, I’ll make fewer decreases to achieve the correct stitch count. Also made the sleeves 1” shorter and will only make the body 13.5” long to better fit my petite size. This should also help with the fact that I only have 7 skeins for the project, not 8 needed for the 37” size.
8/11/18 - Finished, using only 6 skeins! Love it. Adjustments for the cable section:
Since the sleeves were for the 34” size and the body was for the 37 3/4” size the yoke needed to be adjusted. Chose to use the 37 3/4” size for the yoke. Once both sleeves and body were on the needle, there were ??? stitches. Needed to get down to ??? before beginning the cables. Reduced the number of decreases needed to get to the number specified in the pattern for the 37 3/4” size. All went well. Fits perfectly.
