Was inspired by an Akris sweater with a zipper done in thin cotton crochet thread. Then saw the Swarovski zipper at Vogue Live and have been excited to combine the two. Now have another rainbow type zipper as well. Let’s see which way to go…
Changes…
- Used a dtr for the rib instead of the tr
- Removed 2 pattern rows in the body to reduce the length for my petite size
- Tapered sides to remove boxy look
- Added a Swarovski zipper changing from a pullover to a cardigan
- 3/30/2014 - Will remove crochet ribbing from cuffs since it is stretched out and weighing down the sleeves. This is the first time I used crocheted ribbing and will covert any crochet ribbing to knitted ribbing in the future.
Anticipated changes…
- Will work the yoke from left to right to allow for the zipper
Errata…
I reported the following errors to Bergere de France
- Sleeve diagram dimensions do not match the instructions. (see photo of 2 sleeves; sleeve from written instructions on left, sleeve from diagram on right.) I increased 10 sts on each side (as opposed to 3) on the sleeve to achieve to dimensions shown on the pattern diagram for the small size. Use the diagram and increase the stitches accordingly for the other sizes.
- The yoke is worked in the round yet there is a vertical join in the center front. Seems to me that the yoke should be worked starting on the right front and worked in rows.
