4 yard warp for 2 rugs, intended to be woven to 54” including ends for hems.
270 ends 1080 yards warp
Est 300 yards tshirt loop weft
Est 100 yards Linnay weft for hems
1480 yards total
Sett 10 epi, 5 dent reed.
11/26 cut Tshirt loops, 1/2”, started winding warp.
11/28 finished dressing loom, wove most of one rug
3 1/4” hem header on both ends
There were not enough loops left for rug 2, so I cut s’more.
Generally, for rug 2, I used two same color strips together. This makes stripes that generally are 2-3 weft stripes wide.
11/30/14 the weaving is done!
Loom waste 24.5”
Rug 1 off the loom 25” x 54”
Rug 2 off loom 25” x 44”
The warp adds up to 3.4 yards. The balance was “lost” presumably by going up and down over the Tshirt strips.
Next time, for two rugs, similarly sized to the first, I’d wind a warp 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 yards.
Rug 1 used about 500 grams of Tshirt loops; rug 2 about 400 grams.
Rug 1 hemmed wet finished
Rug 2 hemmed wet finished
