Daisy border:
Edging
After Rnd 1 of pattern
Dc in each sc and ch1 space. For daisy border you will need total DC’s to be a multiple of 6 (+2).
In this case, the long side needed 350 DC.
The short side needed 236 DC.
I skipped the “hidden” 1st stitch after each corner. In the corner space: 2DC (on the short side), ch2, 1 DC on the long side.
String 200-ish crystal color pony beads on the white yarn for the daisy centers.
TrCl = 3 triples to last loop, then pull through all loops on hook.
Bottom Petals
With white: chain 4 (leave a 12 inch tail for securing it later). TrCl in first chain.
TrCl twice in corner ch2 space.
+Turn the piece slightly and from behind start a HDC in the first TrCl, after you pull a loop up, push a bead up to hook, catch the yarn after the bead to finish the HDC, so the bead is caught and stays in place.
Turn the piece back forward.
Chain 10 (or 8, if you chain loosely)
TrCl in the HDC you just made.
sk2 DC on edging, TrCl in BLO
sk 2 DC, TrCl in BLO+
+repeat to corner+
In corner place 2 TrCl in ch 2 space, continue around entire afghan.
At end: Chain 10, Slip to inside of first TrCl (near bead). Do not break off yarn. Use the tail to connect the first TrCl to the HDC from previous flower.
Top Petals
Continuing on…
SC behind the bead (catch the lower yarn that comes across between the bottom 2 petals as well, that will give more definition between them… or don’t if you can’t figure it out) :-)
Ch 4, Tr behind bead in same st, Ch4, sl in same st (center corner petal made)
+Ch4, Tr at the base of the ch10, sc in center of ch10 loop.
Tr at the base of the ch10 loop on the other side, ch 4, sl in same space.
sc behind bead+
+Continue around+
Add the center petal again at each corner.
Corner daisies will have 7 petals, the rest will have 6 petals.
Sl to beginning sc.
Change to green for outer border
Rdn 1: sc in Tr of corner center petal. +Ch 5, sc between the 2 petals (over the sc)+
+Continue around.+
Don’t forget to sc in the Tr of each corner center petal.
sl to beginning sc
Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in same st, 5 sc in each ch5 space and 1 sc in each sc around.
sl to beginning sc
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 6 DC in corner sc, +sk 2 stitches, sc in next stitch, sk 2 stitches, 5 dc in next stitch (should be in the sc between petals)+
+continue around+ Place 7 dc in corner sc.
sl to top of beginning ch3.
