This was to be a present and I didn’t have time to spin. I found a light-coloured yarn - some cotton! I like knitting with it but it splits easily which is a pain. However, it was a creamy colour. I happened to have been collecting Avacado pits with the intention of using them for dyeing. It worked perfectly, giving a natural peachy/flesh colour.

Knitting a toy from cotton, well it feels the way I imagine a hairless cat feels. Which is perfect!

I went down to very small needles, for a tight gauge and small size, but Steve still turned out very large! around a foot long.

He’s pretty special. I love the pattern.
