So excited for this shrug! Jan 3 - I am reading a chart! Tonight I learned how to do S2KP and a yarnover. I also realized that I can’t talk and read a chart at the same time :-(

Jan 10 - I have completed the first repeat of the chart. Only 7 more to go! HOly crap, this is gonna take me forever!

Feb 2 - Am almost finished the third repeat. Jeez.

May 10 - Good God in heaven, why did I ever begin this? I think that I will be 60 before I finish it.

Aug 14 - Almost finished the fifth repeat. I have been doing the s2kp’s incorrectly - you are supposed to slip them together and I have been doing it separately. I’m not going to fret about it.
I am desperate to get this done. I want to make some thrummed mittens and “beer-drinking gloves” for the hub.

Also stressing a bit about the non-symmetrical sleeve issue. Apparently, one side ruffles / scallops and the other side does not (multiple Ravelers noted this). I am going to take tanekagirl’s advice and play a bit with the last few rows:

To get a scallop edging on both sleeves, on the third row of the garter stitch, do a kfb at each scallop point. Work two more rows of garter before binding off. The finished piece will have to be wet blocked at the garter points to mock the border of other sleeve. Do not wet block the entire garment or you’ll lose the density and height of fibre nubs.

Nov 21 - Had to order more yarn. urrgghgh… also just realized that I have been doing a raised double decrease instead of a SK2P for the entire project. I wondered why mine looked a bit different than the other projects. Doh!!

Dec 29, 2014. I started this in 2011. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????? Goal is to finish it by Jan 5, 2015

Jan 26, 2015. I didn’t meet my goal; however, I just finished knitting a pair of mittens that I began in 2012, so there is hope. I am going to finish this by the end of the month. I plan to make a serious dent in it tonight. :-)

Feb 11, 2015. I decided to knit the garter stitch separately and sew it on. It wasn’t as annoying as I thought it would be.

Feb 12 - IT’S FINISHED!!!! I am so happy with this - best thing I’ve ever made :-) YESSSSSSSS!
