Last year I promised my niece a hat. I did not deliver. She says that I owe her knitting “with interest” and she wants a sweater. ARrrrgh.
I have decided to go with Cozy Wool at 50% wool and acrylic. I can get it at Michael’s with a 50% off coupon for $4.51 a ball.
Nov 26 - Used the Twisted German Cast-on. It’s stretchy.

Beginning of the sweater is a twisted rib. I was unfamiliar with “k1 tbl” - here’s the video:

Nov 28, 11:45am - I am loving this sweater so far. Easy, fun knit with lots of variation in the pattern. And I am about to make my first bobble! (Rnd 11 - one ball down).
Nov 28, 1:27pm - Bobbles aren’t as fun as I thought they’d be. In fact, I don’t like making them! Sweater is looking stupendous though.
Dec 3 - Completely cacked up the bobbles and had to rip back 8 rows. Whatever I did resulted in an extra 70 stitches per row. I am not knitting this for an XXL girl!
Dec 11- This sweater looks big. And I am making the smallest size! At round 46, I have decided to rip out 5 rows. I “broke for the arms” at round 35! It was supposed to be at 51. This is CRAZY, fellow knitters.
Jan 10 - Well, here it is the New Year and I am exactly where I was on Dec 11. I think that I should have knit this using size 10’s as this sweater is BIG; however, it is working out and it fits my niece! It looks fantastic on her! I’m on the home stretch!
Feb 28 - I have one sleeve left to finish and it’ll be done. I love this sweater so much that I don’t want to give it away! Mods on sleeve: no bobbles. Glad I did this because I actually think that it improves the look.
Feb 28 - I LOVE THIS!!!! So happy with it.
March 2 - I am going to make a coordinating hat with the leftover yarn. It will be my first attempt at designing a hat. Scared.
