This hat lives up to its name, patternwise. These are my modifications:

I cast on 40 stitches but my hat was too sloppy. I made another one for my ten-year-old daughter, casting on 32 stitches using the same needles and yarn. It fits her perfectly:

I remade my hat for my 22 and a quarter inch head. I cast on 36 stitches and it fits me perfectly.

I am now very happy with my hat. And I LOVE the recycled fur pompom on top.
