Noro Taiyo colors lead to addictive crochet behavior due to great anticipation of what each new square will look like!

December 31, 2024

In November 2024, I dug out of deep hibernation the eleven squares I had done for this Noro Taiyo blanket in 2013, along with all of the aran-weight Taiyo in my stash. I found one skein of Taiyo sport-weight and will hold it double. I’m determined to finish it, and use up this stashed yarn.

December 31, 2024: I had enough yarn to complete 81 squares! They are blocking out to 6”x6”. This will be an FO in 2025, at which time I will feel pretty proud of myself for doing it!

Washing and blocking finished today. Whew.

I’m using Dedri’s “Joining Squares Diagonally” at www.lookwhatimade.net. Photo shows join at 65% finished. You can see in the photo the ends that will need running in - far fewer than many other joining methods.

The border is cobbled together from several patterns. I crocheted the first two rows of the Sunny Spread border.
For the next 3 border rows, I followed an online video named “Beautiful & Easy Crochet Border for Beginners” from Massive Crochet.
Finally, I incorporated the last four rows from a paid pattern named “Justyce Destany Border”.
