Made two dishcloths, one on size 7 needles and one on size 4 needles. The size 7 cloth shows holes by the cast on and a few other things I tweaked on the second one.

I find slipping the last stitch of each short row makes it easier to pick up stitches for the next line of entrelac. Based on a suggestion on his webpage, I also tried CO 2 stitches and increasing for each of the base triangles and like that better.

Finally, purling the entrelac squares from right to left avoids a line of knit stitches showing on the yellow & blue squares.

First two pics are front and back of larger needle version; second two pics are front and back of smaller needle version and last pick is both stacked to show the size difference. This was partly because I wasn’t sure smaller needles were helping, but they really were.
