Notes

Gauge: 4-1/2 st per inch in stockinette.

Finished Size: 62” x 25”

Working the Deep V shawl option, and bought a LOT of yarn, planning to make it large. About 6 yards of the 4th skein was left, so this project used 141 yards.

Added two stitches to create a selvedge along the top edge, so right side rows start with sl 2 st before the K3 and wrong side rows end with K5 instead of K3.

Also used M1 increases rather than kfb because I don’t like the bar created by a kbf. On the decrease section, I used ssk rather than k2tog because I didn’t like the line of stitches created by k2tog. These changes apply to the stockinette and cable sections, not the garter stitch border and lace edging.

I might like two purls on either side of the cable instead of 1 so it stands out more.

Thanks so much to the designer Kim Nobles inkslinger1121 for sharing this design with the Project a Month KAL group. It was a fun, easy knit, with a basic cable and a clever lace edging to make it interesting. This is PERFECT for a beginner who’s ready for a little challenge.

The last three photos were taken after about a year and modeled by the recipient.
