I wanted a British preppy sweater.

• Adjusting the v-neck to make it deeper and more gradual. Increasing every fourth row.
• A few of the projects for this pattern mention that the instructions are wrong when you start the right side. They are not. Follow the pattern, i.e. as you’re adding stitches for the right front work Chart 2.
• Adding stripes to the V-neck.
• The flared hem at the sleeve cuff is not the look I was going for so I hid four decreases in each of the large cables before starting the cuff.
• I thought that putting the body on hold and finishing the sleeves first would be a way to avoid sleeve island, but it turns out that doesn’t work for me. As soon as I started on the sleeves I lost interest and put the whole thing away for most of the summer. I still have no method for avoiding sleeve island. Perhaps there isn’t one?
