This FO is my most favorite EVER. Easy peasy, a joy to knit and the result is a stunning blanket. Never before did I have so much fun knitting smth. Also, Frankie, YOU ROCK. Thank you for your awesome patterns and for raising money this way.

Copied ronantheknitarian’s idea to do the short rows in a bright cc, thus creating the illusion of rays of light.

The gradual color change is done by hand and heart. It was veeeery much work that i nearly gave up on at a couple of particularly frustrating occasions. So glad i just plowed on instead. I do love this green blankie.

Blanket is 1.43 m. (57”) across.

provisional cast on, leaving enough yarn to graft st together to close circle.
note to self: graft them in GARTER, not stock.

b/c of provisional cast-on, first knit one row, then w&t section.

first and last st slipped knitwise. Produces a somewhat blurry edge (in main color), which is exactly how i want it. Creates the illusion of depth.

center circle is nine pies, almost a circle.
The whole blanket is nine circles, tapering down in the tenth.

its going fast with yarn held double on # 10 / 6 mm needles. But it’s going real slow with all the different colours fading in and out, sometimes four colours while fading three. But, I was determined to do it like this & happy I kept going, for the blanket is like a dream.
