This oval doily isn’t difficult for an experienced lace knitter, but can be a bit of a challenge for those who’s not. Hope I didn’t scare anyone from trying, cause there are plenty of good helpers in the Niebling Group here at Ravelry. And did I say that the pattern is Excellent? It is!!! Try it :-)

Started thread ball number two at round 96. Knitted a few rounds and found a knot! Hate it when that happens…

Chart B/C done! I’m ready for the “wings” ;-)

Wings are done :-) Started chart E, the outer border. Changed to 2.5mm needle and knitted round 1, purled round 2-5, and knitted round 6.
To avoid all that purling I turned my work to the back using German Short Rows, and knitted instead of purling.

Also started thread ball #3

Two rounds more to knit and the crochet BO… And then it’s ready for the magic in wet blocking relaxed

BO: 1.25 mm crochet hook. 12 chain sts per loop.

I’m lying on the sofa, just watching this beauty while it’s blocking… heartheartheart As I suspected, the leaves will not block flat. But who cares? The flowers and the outer border looks very nice relaxed
