I modified this slightly.

My pattern called for a shell crochet stitch along both sides of the long piece, I didn’t like that edge, it looked flimsy and made the piece bow out. I wanted something firmer so I did crab stitch along both long edges and it made it nice and firm, and the look is more to my liking.

Crab stitch is a backward moving single crochet.
