2010-07-01: watching more “house MD” means more crocheting (just started season 5, and excuse me, but house and wilson are my new OTP). my arms were cold the last two evenings, but wearing a jacket left me too hot. ergo, i clearly need a shrug in a cuddly yarn -- alpaca from the stash it is. different yarn weight from the pattern, but it’s not like it takes a rocket scientist to adjust this; i am not counting stitches, i’m just trying it on.

modifications to the pattern: i hate long chain foundations, so i am doing a modified single crochet one, and i don’t much care for the stiffness of single crochet rows, so i am substituting a linked single crochet instead.

haven’t decided on the contrast yarn yet; might use a colourful ribbon.

thought the cuffs look chunky, so replaced them with a shell edging.
