the third photo is my gauge swatch. i got this yarn as closeout very cheaply, and have been waiting to make something with it.

2010-06-20: i’ve finished with the body and sewn it together. will leave the arms of, maybe work them up come winter; it’s nicely wearable as a vest now. am not using any closures and no collar; made the body a bit longer, and adjusted the shaping to fit my body. it fits very well; the fact that the instructions went up to 4X meant that i could deduce the fit for myself very precisely.

2010-09-01: i really like the feel of this vest; it’s quite swingy. i ended up not liking the different colour stripes much though -- despite being tonally compatible, the stripe width made the whole thing look meh. i overdyed with RIT black, and left the vest in it only long enough to get muted blues -- the stripes are still visible, but blend much more into each other. i got a compliment on it at the local fibre fest.
