My third version of The Chronicle
This is by far my favourite of the three that I have made
The yarn feels perfect for this garment, it ran through my machine like a dream and after a wash in Eucalan it has started to fluff up beautifully. The yarn is a blend of the finest merino and angora 75/25%
My main tension was spot on at TD5 which is one number higher than that used in the design. With that in mind, I just upped the TD number used, by one whole number for each of the different sections and hems. The sizing is perfect.
Lots going on in this design, I love it very much and will no doubt make more
I changed the rib to 2x1 instead of Full Needle Rib
Another change was to use the same 2x1 rib on the back piece, I worked the rib loosely at first TD6/6, and then graduated up to TD3/3 and then out again to TD4/4 before working the stocking stitch section. This has created a lovely peplum effect and causes the jacket to fit closer in the back . I like the effect :)
I added 2” to the length of the body, and also added 2” to the width of the rib sections that attach to the side fronts
The sleeves are a bit wider at the wrist, I added 12 stitches and worked out the increases to match the pattern at the underarm
This yarn is just so soft…like butter!
