After tiring of the invisible gnomes absconding with my cable needle every time I set it down I came up with this ring like holder to keep it within finger’s reach while knitting!

The elastic loop performs double duty as a button loop closure and holds the cable needle securely under tension. The cable needle is slipped in and out as needed without having to let go of the working yarn or needles.
