increase 1 st each end, k4 rows x 4 (27-0-27)
k9 rows
RC000
Cast off 2 sts at beginning next 2 rows (25-0-25)
decrease 1 st each end, k2 rows x 16 (10-0-10)
decrease 1 st each end, k1 row x 6 (3-0-3)
Cast off.
Button band (after seaming other pieces):
Work out no. of sts for neckband - measure length for band on seamed cardigan, multiply by gauge (sts/inch). For this, I got 166.
E-wrap cast on over 166 needles
Hang garment edge (purl side facing you)
Where you want the buttonholes, pull back the needles to A position (out out of work) - 3 needles per buttonhole? maybe 4?
Close latches, bring needles gently forward
Knit the band - 6 rows garment tension, 1 row garment tension +2 (turning row), 6 rows garment tension
Pick up & re-hang loops from seam (where the buttonholes are, pick up the e-wrap loop, not the garment loop
Close latches, bring needles gently forward
Knit one row
Bind off (tapestry needle)
