I altered the pattern a little. Instead of using the thick cotton rope, I used 3 smaller strands and just crocheted over them as one. Also, I added a few more rows to make it longer as I’m 5’11”. I regret making the shoulders so wide, I cut the ropes to 44” when my I measured my shoulders at 42”. I could have easily taken it down 3”. I ended up joining the short side and making a sleeve hole on both sides. Without it, the cowl kept slipping off. Again, had I made it narrower it may have stayed put better.
Overall this was fun, went quickly once I figured out what the pattern was asking. Thanks for the video tutorials, those helped tremendously!
