3/24/15:
Worked up the garter yoke, and tried as hard as I may, I just can’t live with the “seam line” at begining of round. If following the pattern, that “seam” would show up on the back of pullover, where the raglan is. It is very apparent to me, and I had to frog!

Planning:
I think I’m just gonna have to work the garter back and forth, seam it, then join to work in round.
OR
Shift the beginning marker 15 sts ahead, and that would put the “seam line” on the shoulder, thus hiding it from plain view.

3/26/15:
My second attempt starting Aspen, with some modification to the knitting technique, and I’m much more happier now the “seam line” is not in plain sight! YAY! ^-^

Here’s what I did:

  • CO leaving a long tail to sew
  • worked garter back & forth
  • at the end of the second round 6
  • turn work, k15, pm (this will be the start of round marker), k to end, turn work to right side
  • sew sides together using the CO tail. Aspen is now joined to be worked in round
  • k to beginning marker
  • worked round 7, using knit, except for the lace panel, used purl

Happy happy joy joy! ^-^ Moving on with the rest of Taiga’s pattern

6/1/15:
After a short absence from the knitting world due to Dad’s passing, I’m slowly easing back in…
Finally worked past the raglan increase and sleeves separation over the weekend.
Starting the waist decrease section. Instructions of pattern is correct so far.

1/20/2017:
I completed this early 2016. Unfortunately, I only get to test wear as it came out fresh off the needle. Then, I proceed to washing before wearing, and it SHRUNK!!!!!! This is Knit Picks Superwash! It is suppose to be machine safe! I’ve always wash in cold cycle for any yarn that’s claims to Superwash! Very disappointed with Knit Picks :(

That said, a super let down by the yarn, but love the pattern with the shifted “beginning of round” modification.
