I saw these on a YouTube video and followed the link to get the details.
This warp is narrower than I usually do for towels. The draft I am using was written for a RHL using a 15 dent heddle, and I am weaving it on a 4-shaft floor loom at 18 epi in a 10 dent reed. I originally was going to alter the pattern a little bit to make it wider, but after fiddling around on Fiberworks, I decided I didn’t want to change the proportions of the stripes and would just make smaller towels than I usually make. The warp is 374 ends and a little over 20 inches wide in the reed.
I wound a 10-yard warp. I’m a glutton for punishment, but I wanted to weave some Christmassy towels for Christmas gifts. In for a penny, in for a pound. I didn’t run into any difficulties beaming the warp, and so far, so good, but I have only woven a couple of inches. I thought my last warp (9 yards) went on smoothly, but it turned out to be a bit wonky and I had to weight a couple of sections for a while, but eventually they evened out, and the towels turned out fine in spite of the issues. Fingers crossed this warp isn’t wonky. (Now that this project is finished, I’m pleased to say that this was a very well-behaved warp that gave me absolutely no trouble.)
