6-yard warp, 452 ends, including two floating selvedges. I sleyed the ends 2/dent in a 20-dent reed, except for the first 4 and last 4 ends. Of those one (the very first end and the very last end) were sleyed in their own dent as floating selvedges, and the other three at each end were sleyed in one dent. In other words, at the beginning, I had the floating selvedge, then three ends in a dent, and then two ends in every dent until the last 4 ends, and those were sleyed 3 in one dent, and then the floating selvedge in its own dent.
The warp ends, except for the first 4 and last 4, were threaded 4-3-2-1-4-3-1-2-3-4-1-2. To make goose eye, I treadled as threaded. To make herringbone, I treadled 4-3-2-1. (Tie-up 1--1,2; 2--2,3; 3--3,4; 4--4,1)
As is usual for me, I used a temple. Using a temple helps me to keep a more consistent beat because I don’t have to beat hard.
I finished the weaving and cut the towels off the loom on Dec. 9th.
