What I did was find a photo of a gingerbread house I liked and made a basic house shape out of cardboard in the style of the photo. Then, large sheets of “gingerbread” were knit using Cascade 220 Amber colour and these were felted. Then I simply traced and cut out the shapes of the house from the felted fabric and glued them onto the cardboard using simple white glue. I used Alan Dart’s icing and candy patterns from his Gingerbread House for some of the decorations and Barbro Wilhelmsson’s green squares from her Xmas tree hat pattern for my Christmas tree, then added some of my own things. This was my favourite project ever!
