this yarn reminds me of 1994. i think that’s because i had an awesome pair of socks for my birks that was pretty similar to this colorway. i also had a lot of red and black and brown flannel shirts. this is my 3rd simple things shawlette, and this one i really am keeping for myself.

2/21/10: SOOO close. so close. just a few lines more…the last six rows of this shawl take forever. jeez.

3/8/10: i still need to block it and take a real photo! there’s just no room for blocking at the moment.

2/24/10: i would be done with this if i hadn’t just gotten the flu. for real. i can see it sitting there, but my aching body says “no” to knitting. what a waste of a sick day!

2/28/10: i’m pretty sure i got my $5 worth of that pattern. i won’t be making it again any time soon! the scarf/shawlette turned out really pretty; the color changes in the trekking are nice, and the drape is great. it needs to be blocked, but that might have to wait until i finally shake this flu once and for all.
