I had purchased this yarn for this project with the intent of knitting it for my sister, but instead have decided to knit it for my own little WIP due 12.12.12.

For this blanket I plan to do a 1.5 inch seed stitch border as opposed to garter as numerous ravellers before me have done. I will maintain the pattern’s basketweave repeat by casting on 144 stitches.

I took on several knitting projects during the course of making this blanket, and it should have been completed and blocked long long ago. For instance, I selfishly knit myself this cable cowl during the hurricane instead of finishing the basketweave blanket. I nearly finished the project right before Mr. Q was born, but of course, he came a week early and knitting was cast aside. Several family members and friends gave him crocheted and knitted blankets, but he had none from mom so I forced myself to finish this out of guilt. It it is a nice size, and looks great in his room. I’m not sure I love the pool blue color, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
