Followed the pattern exactly. It is HUGE!!!. I love these colors together-- feel like it is more boy-ish than the one featured in the book. Took longer than expected, but I knit the legs two at a time on one needle using the magic loop method. This moved things along a bit and ensured the limbs were the same length. Knitting the limbs separately was preferred because I knit this on the train during my commute to work. Of course, that means there is the massive task of attaching all of the fiddly bits, but I had the best helper who would give hugs to the giraffe in between stitches. He was so sweet I almost want to knit another one for him. Almost.

Limbs attached-- in hindsight my arms are too high, but for some reason I thought this looked less awkward, but now he looks like an overweight giraffe with no neck! Oh well he is just more huggable! 8/23
