Joining the Malabrigo Junkies March Traveling Cables KAL. I love this forest colorway. Fun fact: we were the ‘Foresters’ in college--represented by ‘Boomer the Bear’
This pattern’s celtic knot cable pattern is perfect for March and St. Patrick’s Day. I am really loving this dark evergreen colorway, and the Aran weight on 7s is going to give me a perfectly snug fit. I knit hat as instructed with the full set of repeats and used up my entire skein. I worked my RC and LCs without a cable needle (details below) and that helped me fly through the project. I added a removable faux fur pom pom I purchased on etsy via a shop RKC Handmade.
LC without a cable needle:
Insert RH needle into the back of the fourth stitch on the LH needle and slip those stitches off the needle (pinching them with your thumb against the work will help prevent them from dropping.
scoop up three hanging/hovering stitches with LH needle replace the stitch you slipped to your RH needle back onto your LH needle.
You are now ready to P1 K3 to complete the LC.
RC without a cable needle:
Insert RH needle into the second, third & fourth stitches on the LH needle as if to purl and slip those stitches off the needle while holding onto the first stitch (I typically just pinch it against the work with my index finger to prevent the stitch from dropping)
scoop the first stitch you’re holding/pinching with your LH needle
replace/slip the three stitches back onto the LH needle. You are now ready to proceed to K3 P1 to complete the RC.
