Notes

This is a mash up project born of my love of color work yokes, but living in a climate that doesn’t get cold enough for me to comfortably wear woolen sweaters.

I used a knitting chart app to build on the Yoke O’Clock chart. After adding 20 additional rows, I included the bird skull from the Witching Hour Swoncho chart. The rest of the motifs were my drawing them in (and erasing, drawing, erasing… joy.)

The yarn was so freaking soft, softer than I’ve ever used. Really lovely, but one con was it didn’t bloom or stretch like wool after blocking, so when I stretched the piece over a cardboard backing, it didn’t really cooperate and pulled the stitches open too much.

Another con, well, I can knit a circle, but I cannot cut a perfect one from cardboard to save my life. It was an EVENT and the picture you see is the wonky best I could do to get this piece mounted before I was driven to either tears or arson.

I love it. Here’s to dreamy little ideas becoming real big things. smiling_face_with_3_hearts
