06/22/13 Since I took the orange and cream block and made it smaller, I had leftover cream color. I also made the crocus block smaller and so had left over of it. I used the lavender knitted wit and striped with first the crocus and then the cream and finished with the lavender. I ran out at the end of the bind off and used a tiny bit of camel. #46
06/21/13 Block in Lavender knitted wit #45. Used the Raspberry Firestar Mix to make a block it’s a little smaller than others and its slightly bigger in weight than the others. Not sure that it will end up in the blanket, but I did make it.
06/20/13 Started #44 with leftover red-blue-purple yarn and finishing up with knitted wit lavender bfl sample.
06/19/13 Started #43 with leftover crocus and with the red-blue-purple kool-aid yarn.
06/18/13 Started #42 in crocus and finished.
06/17/13 Needed to dip into the Crocus to finish #41.
06/16/13 Started block #41 in Portland Punch and leftover purple.
06/15/13 Blocked the finished 37, 38 and 39.
06/14/13 Finished block #40 and then went back and had to add rounds to#37, #38, and #39 as they were too small.
06/13/13 Finished block #39 in the mystery dark burgundy-purple. Still have some leftover, so going to start block #40 with it and the leftover Portland Punch.
06/11/13 Found some dark burgundy-purple handspun yarn. I can’t find any pics of the fiber or the handspun in my stash. It’s block #39
06/10/13 Finished #37 and started #38 with the leftover bright green Opulent Fiber sample and alternating it with some found Malabrigo Lace - Azul Profundo. Still just a bit short, I need to bind-off with some Misti Lace Alpaca in Black.
06/09/13 Started #37 with Portland Punch driving down for my dad’s 70th birthday party.
01/03/13 #36 with CA Red and Summer Splash and a dash of the green Opulent Fiber. 44% done.
#35 was using the overdyed opulent fiber. Still have a smidge of the un-overdyed opulent fiber to use. Block #36?
01/02/13 Frogged #34 and started over again. I used the deep blue sea, the indigo falkland and the overdyed green opulent fiber sample. I have a smidge left of the unover-dyed OF to use in another block.
10/21/12 Started block #34 with my leftover first handspun on a drop spindle of any size - Deep Blue Sea BFL. It said that I had six yards of it leftover and that could be right, but seemed like more. Also had a bit of Indigo Falkland that is pictured with some natural BFL/silk. Its also probably just a few yards, but is part of this block too. Continuing on to finish the block in the green Opulent Fiber sample.
10/20/12 Finished block #33 but had to finish the bindoff with some black Misti Lace Alpaca.
10/19/12 Finished block #32 with the light, medium and dark browns. Used the remaining dark brown (black opulent fibers) to start block #33. Switched to Alpaca mix yarn for rest of block.
-Pics up of the 9 patch layout. Not sure if this is what they final ones will look like, but it gives me a plan. I can also use a nice solid color to pull them all together. Either but it between each of the blocks or around each of the 9 patch pulling together. Possibilities!!
10/18/12 Started block #32 with the light brown Opulent Fiber leftover.
-Finished block #31. Tried out a 9 patch block layout for the blocks. Need to do the pics.
06/27/12 Started a block with Summer Splash Merino Yarn, looks like its block #31. Started at the Phillip Margolin talk at the Forest Grove Library.
11/06/11 Finished block #30 with the yak/merino 0 lovely! Ends woven in, need to soak and block tomorrow.
10/18/11 Cast on Block #30 with the Tactile Shetland. Didn’t quite make a full block so its going on hold until I finish my shawl.
-Cast on and finished Block #29 Pear Tree and smidge of Shetland from the Tactile sampler pack. (Soaked and blocked blocks 25-28.)
10/17/11 Decided that 42 blocks will not be enough. Currently estimating 60.
-Started block #28 Upstream Alpacas Blues-greens and a smidge of Pear Tree.
10/16/11 Started block #27 Upstream Alpacas blues-purples and Pear Tree, but have migraine so will finished tomorrow. Finished block #26 obviously.
10/15/11 Block #26 Rogue Adventures and used it up and added the Pear Tree.
08/19/11 Finished block #25, just need to soak and block tomorrow.
08/17/11 Starting #25 with the camel.
08/16/11 #24 Kool-aid dyed block. Started this a couple days ago I think, but finished it this afternoon. Pretty striping. Need to soak and block it. That’s for tomorrow. ;-)
05/22/11 #22 done with edge of the IF Shetland Humbug and soaking. I picked up the stitches around a small block that I apparently didn’t number, so it gets to be #23. It’s pictured in the group pic with lavender and blue alpaca. I used my kool-aid dyed yarn to add to the size. Also soaking. Need to block both and pics tomorrow.
05/17/11 Cast on Block #22 with the Suri Network Suri. Plan to use the Camel Silk and th International Fleeces Shetland Humbug.
-Spun up samples given to me by Cindy. Used up the Serenity Sheep black and the Desert Charms CA Red and the Alpaca and a smidge in the bind off of the Suri Network suri.
05/08/11 Block #21 started with the leftover Smith Rock, little short so I need to spin up some bits to finish it off.
05/06/11 Block #20 Used the leftovers of the Shetland and Norwegian and alternated stripes every five rows. Used up the last of each.
04/03/11 Block #19 used up the blues and purples of the AF BFL Sample yarn and dipped into the Smith Rock to bind off. Need to soak and block in the AM.
03/01/11 Finished up Block #18 with the leftover Finn (13.3 yards). Wove in ends and currently soaking. Might be a smidge smaller than other blocks.
02/28/11 Started a square with the leftover Opal alpaca.
11/10/10 I’ve decided I’m not going to do the Leo Rising yarn as a block on its own. I have plenty in the orange color and its a bit scratchy. I’ve used up all my little samples of handspun and just have sock yarns leftovers if I wanted to do more blocks. So this will go into hibernation until I get more samples to knit up. I’m ready for bigger yarn and needles now anyway. ;-)
11/09/10 Finished Block #17, just need to soak and block along with #16 tomorrow.
-Had to frog #17 with Knitted Wit and start over because one of the stitchmarkers had gotten knitted in during those rows. Started over with the Abstract Fibers and decided that I’m just going to go with that.
-Finished block #16 and started #17. Smidge of Knitted Wit leftover from #16 and using rest of Abstract Fiber. May have some leftover from that….
-Finished block #15 and casting on for Block #16 with Knitted Wit and possibly Abstract Fiber.
11/08/10 Finished #14 with a bit left, so starting block #15 with it and then will switch to Abstract Fiber to finish.
-Block #14 the Dicentra Edoras 2.
11/07/10 Finished block #13 with the Leo Rising. Need to soak and block both 12 & 13.
-Block #12 is done. Finished up with some Abstract Fiber Autumn. Started block #13 with the rest of Autumn.
-Block #11 is done and currently soaking. Still have some leftover, so starting Block #12 and will move on to my WWSiP 09 samples to finish.
11/06/10 Block #11 Bliss Yarn started.
-Block 9 is the 6-1/2 inches and Block 10 is 7-1/4 inches. They’re blocked and drying then photos. Then a blog post catch up…..
-Finished up Block #10. I used up the last of both and had to dip into another skein - the samples from 2009. I guess I could have finished two rows early and have leftover of both. The block I think is also bigger than the others, which balances out the one that’s smaller.
11/05/10 Finished Block #9, need to do ends and soak/block. Started Block #10 combining leftover P-A and the Cormo/Silk. Started it differently, did 4 rows of P-A then 4 rows C/S before going into the 2 row repeat striping. We’ll see how it comes out.
-Started block #9 the Pico-Accuardi sample. Pretty!
11/04/10 -Finished Block #8, just need to soak and block tomorrow.
-Block #7 is finished, needs a soak and block, but sheep fleece in the sink first. I ended up using some of Duffy’s Bun to finish up the block. I thought I had it the right size but it seemed a tiny bit shorter than the other. I’m sure it will block out fine.
Block #8 is with the last of Duffy’s Bun and the Cormo/Silk leftovers. Striping them like the yak block.
11/03/10 Finished Block #6, just need to weave in ends and soak and block. Started Block #7 KnittedWit-Stitchjones Sample yarn.
11/02/10 Block #6 with Duffy’s Bun. Blocked #5, its just 6 inches.
11/01/10 Block #5 used up the bit of 2ply I made from the leftover Carolina Homespun Lavender stuff. I also used the leftover blue alpaca from the teddy dress. Ends woven in, just need to soak and block tomorrow.
Block #4 uses the green that I created in the Spinning for Socks class at Sock Summit and the Rogue Adventures. All blocked!
-UA, yak, AF BFL/Silk blocks - 6-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches.
10/31/10 -Started and finished a 3rd block out of the yaks - striping them. Soak and block for it tomorrow too.
-2nd block done! Just need to soak and block.
-Started a 2nd block using the Abstract Fiber BFL/Silk sample from the Knitmore Girls bag.
-Finished the Upstream Alpaca square. Soft and pretty. Need to wash and block.
10/28/10 Started a block with Upstream Alpaca sample while waiting for car work to be done. Pretty!
