I’ve gotten used to knitting round things by knitting them “in the round”. This pattern takes me out of that comfort zone by knitting the whole bunny in flat sections and seaming them.

20080413 Decided to go with the Big-foot Bunny pattern for my troll. I got off to a bad start, knitting the first 20 rows in the wrong yarn (doh!) but frogged that and now I’ve got 2/3 of his torso done.

Finished the torso and head. Did a P2TogB for the first time while shaping the face. I had to look up how to do it correctly in The Knitter’s Companion.

The body section is done, and one foot is starting to emerge.

20080423 finished the legs, arms, body. Now knitting the ears modified for a troll instead of bunny. When those are done I still need to do tusks, soles of the feet, nose, hair, assembly, and a robe for him. May do the robe out of fabric instead of knitting it. Still time left to decide on that in a bit.

20080426 Finished the nose and tusks.

20080427 Assembled and hair tied on. His hair still needs a trim, but the knitting portion of the doll is finished. I’ll be making his robe out of fabric instead of knitting it.
