Notes

I knitted a pair of fingerless mittens for my grandmother for Christmas. I was especially pleased when she tried them on and they fit properly because Grandma’s hands are a lot smaller than mine, and I didn’t have anyone to try them on as I worked.

I used a combination of a couple of different patterns, and added cables to them that weren’t in either pattern. It was also my first attempt at cables.

I actually made two fingerless, and one standard mitten. She has only partial use of one hand, so the full mitten is for that one, if she wants to keep those fingers warm without covering up her fingers on her good hand.

The yarn is a blend of wool, cashmere and silk.
