This little cutie more-or-less designed himself! I was knitting a sampler for a cable and aran workshop that I am teaching coming up to St Patrick’s Day, when Oisin Owl appeared in the knitting, so I extracted him and knitted him up again.

He will become a handbag charm.

I have to complete the reverse side and write up the pattern….coming soon

About the yarn. I think it must be around since the 70’s. It is what I would call ‘crusty’…could well have been spun in a cottage because there are lots of little extra fibers in the yarn..just adding to the charm. Of course being crusty is an advantage since thats what gives such great stitch definition.
