Wonderful experience knitting this beauty. Love love love the tukuwool. Fine yet wooly, beautiful drape and depth of color. It works very well with Jamieson too.

Kristin’s pattern is elegant and well written complete with her brilliant versions of steeking, buttonbands and color theory/dominance making the project fun, educational and satisfying. (Her tip for stitch by stitch color dominance was life changing)

when making the top buttonhole in the neck band which is folded over, I made one in what would be the center of the neck band then several rows later I made another so that once folded over the whold goes through both layers!

When I started this test knit I did not have access to all the gorgeous Tukuwool colors and so substituted Jameison for my contrasting colors which worked very well but will use all Tukuwool for my next one as the hand is so wonderful and my LYS is now carrying so many beautiful colors.

Color tip:
Choose two colors that have similar value yet have a high contrast from the background so the motifs hang together.

Shape:
The sweater is a drop shoulder boxy shape that lands slightly below the waist. I did a “gravity block” (hanging vertically while still damp from soaking) to lengthen it a little bit. Perfect length for showing off a great belt buckle. ;)

I loved knitting this beauty and will cast on another right away.
