Couldn’t get to grips with the hook size. It seemed to be too large and the stitches too loose for this design. Frogged and started again with a size 4 hook, which made the motifs a fraction tighter. However, it probably would make the garment less fluid, so pulled it all out again and reverted back to the size 5 hook. It’s my own fault, I should have more faith in the pattern, I’m sure the drape will be lovely once all the squares are joined together.
14th August 2015 - The motif squares are all coming out at the recommended size of 23cm x23cm, so all good so far.
20th August 2015 - finished joining all squares together, looks fine. Now joining corners to make the armholes. Have decided on making the edging thicker than recommended and am liking how this looks.
