(Notes are from memory since my dog is sitting on me and I can’t get up to get the actual pattern. So beware my numbers might be slightly off.)
Worked in the round, using Magic Loop, with some leftover yarn. Any weight yarn can be used.
Fish head:
- Judy’s magic CO - 8 st
- increased 2 st every round for 3 rounds (14 st)
- increased 2 st every other round for 1 round (16 st)
Fish body:
- knit 6 rows for body
Stuff body now!
Fish part between body and tail (there must be a name fro this):
- decrease 2 st every round for 3 rounds (10 st)
- knit 2 rows
Keep stuffing as you knit! (It gets really hard to stuff later.)
Fish tail:
I knitted the left and right side separately, flat, following the chart (to be seamed together later). In other words, right front, right back, left front, left back.
Sewing up the tail bits:
Arg! This was fiddly to sew!! It’s important to stuff as you seam.
Need to sew eyes and maybe mouth.
Next time I will make the tail flat (like a 1/2 circle) just to avoid all that fiddliness.
