Excellent directions overall. I did find 1 mistake while shaping the shoulders. The way I read the directions, the shoulders ended up being where the chest should be. So I just shifted the stitches and made the left- and right-slanting decreases at the sides of the body (instead of the front of the body). Other than that, the entire pattern was extremely clear and easy to follow.

The hardest part of the toy was the eyes. I tried at least 2-3 different types and color of yarn and embroidery thread before settle on the medium blue DMC floss.

I found that the toy looks cuter if the eyes are of a non-intrusive color (so bright pink didn’t work), and closer to the trunk. I also played around with the size of the eyes before finally settling on a happy medium. End result is definitely worth all the fuss.
